Christmas time is here again and I am not going to take Christ out of Christmas because it is He who has brought me as far as i have come.

I thank all my fans and my friends who have taken the time to listen to my music, become a fan, brought my CDs or those who have prayed for me and told friends about what God is doing for me.

This year God has allowed me to be heard in over 138 countries and all over the US. I have about 600 fans from around the world. He adds flavors of Celtic persuasion to songs such as, "Molly Maguire" and "Ireland of My Dreams." The fun and lively song, "On This Old Farm," beams with Country style as the melodic lyrics gives an in depth look into the life of a farmer and also features some great harmonies. Whereas Michael Arrington's outstanding debut CD was a straight-up country effort showcasing the refined singer's well-crafted songs and the classic guitar-piano-steel accessories of the album's country roots, on "Michael Arrington, Vocal & Saxaphone" Arrington and his crack Nashville sidemen deliver a more diverse collection of mainly traditional songs that more than ably cover the rest of Nashville's grand legacy. With Arrington stepping back from the mic to concentrate on his ample sax talents, this 10-song CD of mostly instrumental covers recalls no less a figure than Arrington's childhood inspiration, the renowned saxophonist and bandleader Boots Randolph. With excellent renditions of such traditional nuggets as "Rolling in My Sweet Baby's Arms," and "Rocky Top," and the jazz ambience of "Misty," "Michael Arrington, Vocal & Saxaphone" has a throwback vibe that verily channels a bygone era. Classic power-trio rock driven by the kind of fiery and blistering guitar flourishes that defines the genre is the order of the day on The Leftovers fine new CD, "Reheat and Serve." Alternately flashing the kind of licks a fan of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, or Stevie Ray Vaughan would drool over, veteran rocker D. Logan Foster leads a 3-piece band through a 9-song workout of blues fire and rock dynamics with drama and flair. With wife Cassandra Roxanne (Bass) and Bennie Bee (drums) proving a rock-solid and inventive rhythm section, classic blues rock gets a makeover on the Santana-inflected "Simple Woman" while the Southern chug of "Your Eyes Give You Away" are right out of the Lynyrd Skynyrd playbook. CD-opener, "Let's Do It Again" surges with a Hendrix-like fury as Foster's slashing chops cuts through the song like lightning bolts. Originally released in 1976, "Red Letter Day" by Tom Lucas is a CD packed with the truest form of American Rock. Lucas' lyrics deal with the never-ending political issues of our time and don't hold back on his sentiments. Close your eyes and listen to Lucas' vocals as they are pure, crisp, and simple, whereas you might even think you are hearing Neil Young. "Babylon Rising" is piano-driven with an energetic Blues/Rock tonality. The original album contained nine tracks, but the addition of a new track, "Stars In The Night," gives the listeners a taste of nice harmonies and moving beats. The ballad-like song, "Days Numbered," displays emotive vocals and laid-back piano interplay. The entire collection of music on this album is straightforward and well-produced. "Synthetic Heart" by X-Sonic is refreshing wave of 80's synthpop meets modern day electronica. The production of each track is progressive and provides solid and extremely danceable beats. The melodies coupled with the lyrics keep the listener in a kaleidoscope of romance, escape, and a night out all at once. This CD is definitely one that has the potential of being pumped in downtown nightclubs to get everyone out on the dancefloor. "Crazy Over You", the opening track really sets the tone of creativity and originality with a familiarity and a classic feel that can be heard throughout this record. Toward the end, "Fade to Blue" cools it down with a smooth ballad sound while still keeping the synthetic effects strong. Older fans of Dead or Alive as well as younger fans of Justice can thoroughly enjoy this up and coming band out of Tennessee.

"New Life" is the third gospel reggae release from impressive writer/composer duo Errol and Kaye Leslie. Originally from Jamaica, but currently taking up residence in Florida, Errol and Kaye smoothly incorporate Caribbean reggae rhythms into their gospel songs for their music ministries. The result is twelve upbeat and rhythmic tracks about the importance of Jesus in our day to day existence and the necessity of putting one's life into God's hands. Errol and Kaye, combined with the backing vocalists, create some great vocal dynamics on this album. Errol has a great booming bass reggae vocal, and Kaye a strong alto more lenient to the gospel end of the sound. "New Life" features great production quality. It sounds very clean and makes you feel as though you are in a Caribbean tent revival. "Caribbean Gospel Medley" defines Caribbean gospel perfectly with an attention-getting beat, great vocal layering, and lyrics about redemption. The title track, "New Life," is an Elvis-esque southern gospel track with great booming doo-wop vocals from Errol, more great vocal layering, and a classic arrangement. Overall, "New Life" is an accomplishment, as it combines the fun, upbeat sounds of the Caribbean with serious and heartfelt gospel lyrics. If the fusion of reggae with gospel appeals to you, I strongly recommend that you check out Errol and Kaye Leslie.

Pianist Lee Michaels has recently released his debut CD "My Life" which blends the soul of Motown with a touch of classic rock. However, Michaels serenades the listener with songs like "The Rain Will See Us Through" which is extremely influenced by the early sounds of Elton John. With the fittingly titled "Dedicated," David Cahalan pays tribute to the music of The Carpenters, for whom he is a former background singer. He modernizes each tune with his melodic, individual style, breathing new life into the original while making it his own. He opens the set with the familiar "Hurting Each Other," updating the standard tune with his modern style of pop. He gives the classic "Close To You" a contemporary flair with a bright, bouncing groove, and smooth lead and background vocals. His version of "For All We Know" is a touching ballad, featuring soulful vocals by Cahalan and a shimmering soprano sax melody. His rendition of "Superstar" features a great horn section and a brilliant string arrangement. "Bless the Beasts and the Children" is a wonderful duet, with Cahalan and his female counterpart in fine form. With "Dedicated," David Cahalan pays a suitable and proper tribute to truly great songs that were sung by Karen Carpenter. This is surely an album that all Carpenters' fans will appreciate.

"Mark II" by Contemporary Christian Rock band Mark II (Mark Wright) is an impressive high-energy release featuring well-crafted songs with spiritual, compassionate messages. The message in each track is delivered through Wright's thought provoking lyrics and spirited vocal performances. Wright is backed by a group of talented musicians that provide excellent support and brilliant background vocals throughout. This album rocks hard with the foot-stomping opener "About a Savior," and continues with such melodic tracks as "Come Follow Me" and "Promises" that feature catchy guitar riffs and memorable choruses. Also noteworthy are the moving ballads such as the uplifting "I Believe" and the heartening "In Your Hands," where Wright's vocal abilities are on full display. The energetic "Miracle" is a fitting closer, as Wright hopes to touch lives as he conveys his positive, encouraging message through his music. In the biting sax tone of lead track "Hungry Dog," the incendiary guitar of "Driving With Her Knees," and the imagery-rich lyrics of "Steps of Hell," a listener hears the components that made artists like The Bottle Rockets, B-52's, Firewater and Southern Culture on the Skids so original and compelling.
